Licensing as a service (systemd) on Linux

When a license server goes down for whatever reason it is handy if the license server service came up automatically on restart. The Default Flexnet Licensing installation does not require any special consideration and can placed anywhere and started in many different ways.

Change License Order

Controlling license order is particularly useful in the case of “station” licenses in the presence of additional atomics in the same make up as the station license. For example, if there were an additional Calibre nmDRC license in the presence of a Calibre PVS license, and it is desired to check out the nmDRC license rather than the PVS license. This article shows how to change the order of how licenses are obtained.

Retrieve licensing from other user

Users forgetting to close their tools to return licenses can cause a challenge when you can't get hold of a license to carry out your work. Flexnet licensing provides the lmremove batch tool to remove licenses from dormant users of a particular license.
