Summary
When working with multiple windows, a user may want to stack or create dockable views of cells to manage screen space efficiently and simultaneously access multiple views. This feature is available in S-Edit and L-Edit through the same methods.
Details
Opening a new tab for a cell view
The default behaviour of S-Edit and L-Edit when opening a view is to replace the currently active window with the selected view.
You can open a view in a new tab by holding CTRL when opening the view. This works with any method of opening a cell.
Setting the default behaviour
The default behaviour can be changed to always open a new window. This setting can be found in Setup > Preferences > General. When this setting is enabled, holding CTRL when opening a view replaces the active view instead.
Creating a dockable window of a view
Creating a dockable window allows it to be separate from the S-Edit window so it can be used on other screens. To create a dockable window of a view, right-click the tab of the view and click “dockable”. The window can be undocked by right-clicking the window and unchecking “dockable”.
